Eesti Kaupmeeste Liit (Estonian Traders' Association) is a non-profit voluntary organisation. Kaupmeeste Liit was established in April 1996 to bring together retailers with common interests, to solve different problems and represent members in various institutions in Estonia and abroad. The association has 46 members - retail and wholesale enterprises.

The main tasks of the association is to represent the common interests of the members on different levels of Estonian governmental institutions, to promote fair and balanced trade traditions and also to establish contacts with other associations in Estonia and abroad, including the European organizations (EuroCommerce, Finnish Food Marketing Association). The Estonian Traders' Association is the member of Estonian Confederation of Employers (Eesti Tööandjate Keskliit) and Estonian Chamber of Commerce (Eesti Kaubandus-Tööstuskoda).

The activities are:

• active participating in legislative processes in Estonia;
• create consumer policy in order to defend best practice;
• co-operate with local government to obstruct illegal trade;
• participate in reorganisation of Estonian professional education to improve training of the commercial workers, especially shop assistants;
• organise advanced training courses for the workers of the members;
• collect the information about the market situation in Estonia, keep the members informed of statistics, legal documents etc.
• consult and assist the members
   

General meeting is held twice per year. The members of the Board are elected at General meeting. The Board holds meetings every month; the members meet two –three times per year under the supervision of the Chairman of the Board and once per month on meetings or infodays.
The activities of the association are based on the representation and safeguard the common interests of its members.
