Lintgen OÜ, owner of the T1 Mall in Tallinn, has joined the Merchants' Association.
"In recent years, almost all of Estonia's larger shopping centres have joined our membership, which has turned the Merchants' Association into a forum for joint activity in the retail real estate segment as well. We are delighted to welcome T1 to our ranks and look forward to their active participation in the various cooperation projects of the Association," said Nele Peil, managing director of the Estonian Merchants' Association.
"The Merchants' Association is a capable and active representative organisation, and T1 is glad to be part of it alongside dozens of other respected Estonian retailers. In the renewed T1, retail will continue to play an important role, focused on the centre's first two floors, where we will put strong emphasis on quality outlets. All of this comes in addition to the entertainment, leisure activities, sports, and health and beauty services that T1 will increasingly offer," said Tarmo Hõbe, managing director of T1.
The Estonian Merchants' Association is the largest representative body of retail companies in Estonia, bringing together 65 companies that together employ more than 26,000 people. The Association was founded in 1996 to represent and protect the interests of its members in the legislative process, in business development and in implementing the principles of Good Trade Practice. The retail chains belonging to the Merchants' Association currently hold 80% of the Estonian market for food and everyday consumer goods.
