Anna-Nicole Innes, a student at Rocca al Mare School, loves fashion and is interested in marketing. A day spent shadowing Baltika's creative director Piia Poolak gave her the certainty that this is exactly the kind of work she would like to do herself in the future.
Piia Poolak put her shadow to work right away - in the Baltika fashion street store, a brand-new corner had to be set up and the most elegant pieces from various collections needed to be put on enticing display. Nicole's task was to handle the accessories and arrange jewellery, bags and scarves on the shelves.
"I actually already knew that the way merchandise is displayed is a big science and a creative effort," Nicole said. "It was very exciting to try my own hand at it under Piia's guidance."
Last summer, Nicole worked through the student work scheme at a Circle K station, where she also dealt with displays, taking responsibility for the correct placement of food on the shelves. "It is a really exciting part of marketing - how to set up a store so that people want to buy more from it," Nicole added.

According to Piia Poolak, the Job Shadow Day showed that Nicole has talent. "I would definitely recommend trying out a job in retail, both to her and to other young people. In any field - the opportunities are very varied," she said. "You can develop enormously, both within the same company and across the entire sector, and internationally as well."
